The relationship between patterns of single neuron firing and seizure activity has been a recent area of investigation in attempts to link micro- and macro-level brain dynamics. Here, I will present preliminary findings exploring single neuron dynamics in a genetic mouse model of epilepsy. Using two-photon calcium imaging to record population level activity of hundreds of neurons, we examine the relationship between patterns of individual neuron firing and large scale epileptiform events, revealing a diverse range of neuronal activation patterns across events.
